Freerk founded Meijburg Law in November 2016. He is a Partner and civil law notary at Meijburg Legal, the Dutch KPMG law firm, and head of the firm. He has more than 27 years of international experience in Corporate/M&A and extensive experience in managing national and international group reorganization and M&A projects. Freerk has extensive experience with various aspects of Dutch corporate law. He is a civil-law notary who specializes in the incorporation of companies, cooperatives, partnerships and other legal entities under Dutch law. Freerk has considerable experience in providing assistance with (cross-border) mergers, the relocation of registered offices, transformations, split-ups and restructuring as well as the setting up of private equity structures. The use of instruments such as depositary receipts, shares with or without voting rights or employee share ownership plans are also part of his practice.

Freerk is author of SDU Commentaar Ondernemingsrecht, in particular on the demerger legislation.
