The EU Omnibus Proposal is set to affect many companies in the EU through shifting the criteria for ESG reporting obligations. As a result, increasing attention is directed towards voluntary reporting and the VSME Standard.
Developed by EFRAG and published in late 2024, the voluntary VSME standard is intended to support SMEs with a modular approach in their voluntary ESG reporting. In addition, the EU Omnibus refers to VSME when describing the set of ESG data that in the future will be expected to be disclosed to capital market and business partners – which is particularly relevant for those companies who are not or no longer in scope of CSRD.
In this webcast we will break down the VSME standard, compare it to ESRS and explore an investor and B2B-driven approach to ESG reporting.
